Falcao Uno · Bay of Palma, Mallorca · September 2026
Lydia & Shaun
Lydia and Shaun got married on a boat. They got ready at Hotel Saratoga, in the centre of Palma, and by early afternoon the whole wedding had left the port together aboard Falcao Uno: the two of them, their friends, a celebrant, a DJ and a cake.
Falcao Uno is a classic wooden boat, and it left the port with the city still in sight behind it. Lydia sat out on the side deck in her veil while the wake opened up behind us.
They dropped anchor off the coast and the ceremony happened right there on deck, with the sea on every side and half the guests in sunglasses. Lydia laughed her way through most of it. Shaun looked like he could not quite believe it.
Then the speeches, straight after, with one microphone passed from hand to hand and the cliffs behind whoever was talking. Lunch came out on deck between them.
After lunch people started going in. Shaun in a captain's hat, the bridesmaids, most of the guests. I photographed some of it from the deck and some of it from the air.
The cake came out as the light went. Then the DJ, the confetti, the bouquet thrown into the evening sky, and a dance floor that was also the deck.
