Lucie and Charles are French, though they met in Australia: two travelers who found each other far from home. They surf, they dance, they chase distance. A year before this day, they had already married in the desert at Burning Man, a private ceremony among the dust and the art. This time, they wanted their people around them. So they chose Son Marroig, and their family and friends flew in from across the world to gather on the Mallorcan cliffs.
Getting ready in the old house
A family-led ceremony on the Son Marroig terrace
The ceremony was led by members of their own family: symbolic, personal, unhurried. Words spoken by people who had known them long before Australia, before the desert, before New York or Sydney. That closeness carried through the rest of the day.
Aperitivo above the sea
Dinner that opened with dancing
After cocktails, dinner opened with an entrance that felt more like a party than a seated meal: guests already on their feet, dancing before the plates arrived. The energy never dropped. Every generation danced, together, until well into the night.
Sunset over Sa Foradada
And then, the sunset. From Son Marroig's terrace, looking out over Sa Foradada and the Tramuntana coast, it was one of the most extraordinary evenings I've photographed. The sky did all the work.
A rap, a film, and a night that didn't stop
Later came the moment no one saw coming: Charles's brothers took the stage with a rap they had written, projected a short film they had made, and turned the whole reception into something between a concert and a family in-joke. Guests laughed, danced, and stayed close until the very end.
