How I work
The most important part of my job happens before I raise a camera: a real conversation with you, about what you're looking forward to and what you're quietly dreading. Once that exists, the camera stops being something you're aware of, and I can photograph the day rather than interrupt it.
Most of the time I don't intervene at all. Occasionally I'll move a moment a few metres for better light. In the couple session I direct a little more: sometimes a deliberately still, editorial portrait, more often an action rather than a pose, adapted to whoever is in front of me.
And I think the selection matters more than the edit. A wedding gallery should be a coherent story that matches the day you actually lived, not a highlights reel of the same twenty pictures every photographer takes. My editing comes out of film: natural, restrained, and faithful to the light that was in the room.
Film and digital, in the same gallery
Every wedding I photograph has film in it. A set of 35mm frames always reaches the final gallery alongside the digital work, at no extra cost. It's simply how I shoot.
There's also a full film package for couples who want the day covered properly on analogue: between 300 and 400 film photographs. It's only available together with a second shooter, because someone has to keep the digital coverage running while I'm working through rolls. Film comes back when the lab returns the scans, usually 10 to 14 days after the wedding.
Where I photograph in Mallorca
I work across the whole island, and because I live here I don't charge a travel fee for a wedding anywhere in Mallorca.
In the Serra de Tramuntana: Deià, Valldemossa, Sóller, Esporles, Alaró, Orient and Escorca, the stone villages and clifftop estates of the northwest coast. Around the capital: Palma and Calvià. In the north: Pollença and Alcúdia. Inland, the wine country around Binissalem and the fincas of Porreres. In the south and southeast: Llucmajor, Santanyí and Cala d'Or.
Those are the places my work has taken me most often. The island is small enough that no part of it is far, so a wedding in Felanitx, Petra, Santa Maria or Sineu is exactly as straightforward for me as one on the Tramuntana coast, and costs no more.
Beyond Mallorca I'm available anywhere in the world. For destination weddings off the island, travel, flights and accommodation are billed separately from the coverage itself.

Not every story here is a wedding day. Irene and Daniel's couple session in Sineu was photographed two months before theirs: an evening in the old town and a picnic in the cut fields of the island's interior.
Booking and coverage
Wedding coverage starts at €2,500, which is one photographer for eight hours on a single day. Everything past that (a second shooter, several days, the film package) is quoted for the wedding you're actually planning.
Dates go early here. May to October usually books 10 to 12 months ahead, and a weekend between June and September is closer to 14 to 18 months. A 25% retainer on signing holds the date; the remaining 75% is due the week before the wedding.
Multi-day celebrations are some of my favourite work. A welcome dinner or a day-after brunch gives me time to connect with you and your guests properly, and that always shows in the pictures.
Frequently asked questions
How far in advance should we book a wedding photographer in Mallorca?
May to October is the busy half of the year in Mallorca, and those dates usually go 10 to 12 months out. If your wedding falls on a weekend between June and September, plan for 14 to 18 months ahead.
How many photographs will we receive?
Between 650 and 800 images for a one-day wedding, and 1,000 to 1,200 for a three-day celebration. The exact number depends on the package and how many days I'm with you.
How long until we receive the gallery?
A preview reaches you within 48 hours of the wedding. The film arrives once the lab returns the scans, normally 10 to 14 days later. The complete gallery is delivered within 60 days of the wedding at the latest.
Do you travel outside Mallorca?
Yes. I'm available anywhere in the world. I'm Mallorcan and I don't charge a travel fee for weddings anywhere on the island. For weddings elsewhere, travel, flights and accommodation are billed separately from the coverage.
Do you cover more than the wedding day?
Gladly. Multi-day celebrations are some of my favourite work: a welcome dinner or a day-after brunch gives me far more time to connect with you and your guests, and that shows in the photographs.
Do you always shoot on film?
There is always some 35mm film in the final gallery, included as standard. There's also a dedicated film package of 300 to 400 analogue photographs, available only when a second shooter is booked.

Will you direct us, or just observe?

We're not comfortable in front of a camera. What then?
Almost nobody is, which is why the conversation comes first. Once we've talked properly, the camera stops being the thing in the room. For portraits I adapt to the person in front of me: sometimes a still, editorial frame, more often an action rather than a pose.
What happens if it rains?
It rarely rains in Mallorca outside the winter months, but you should still agree a plan B with your venue or planner. I keep photographing either way. Showing what actually happened is what documentary photography is.
Do you work alone or with a second photographer?
I've photographed a great many weddings alone and I'm comfortable doing it. I recommend a second photographer when you're both getting ready in distant places at the same time, or when there are more than 100 guests. The film package requires one.
What languages do you speak?
Spanish, English and Catalan. I understand French well, although I don't speak it fluently.
What if you can't make it on the day?
It has never happened. If something ever did make it impossible, I have a network of photographers on the island I trust completely and would call on.
How does payment work?
A 25% retainer on signing the contract holds your date. The remaining 75% is due the week before the wedding.
How are the photographs delivered?
As an online gallery organised by moment, so the day reads in order. You control it: hide any image, share the gallery with your guests, and order prints or albums directly from it.
Can you recommend other wedding suppliers in Mallorca?
Yes, and I enjoy doing it. Being local means I know the vendor network here well: planners, videographers, musicians, caterers, photo booths. Even if your date is already taken, I'll ask around to find a photographer whose work fits what you're after.
